What is Sky?
SKY is the successor to MKR and is now the sole voting token of the protocol behind USDS and legacy DAI. Holders can vote or delegate, and staking positions can access governance-set rewards and borrow USDS subject to collateral and liquidation rules.
SKY is neither the stablecoin nor a deposit receipt for its savings products. Its economic exposure depends on governance, protocol surplus and spending, collateral risk and the ongoing conversion from MKR, whose exchange rate is reduced over time by a governance-approved delayed-upgrade penalty.
SKY is not a dollar stablecoin: USDS and DAI target one dollar, while SKY is the protocol’s variable-price governance token.
