What is Ripple USD?
Ripple USD is issued by a Ripple affiliate and is designed to maintain a one-dollar value using cash and cash-equivalent reserves. It is available on selected public ledgers, with the issuer publishing reserve attestations and defining who can redeem directly.
RLUSD is distinct from XRP: one is an issuer-backed stablecoin and the other is the native asset of XRP Ledger. Transactions can still depend on the chosen network, token contract, issuer controls, reserve custody and access to secondary-market liquidity.
RLUSD is not a renamed or wrapped version of XRP, and demand for one does not mechanically create an equal change in demand for the other.
