What is PAX Gold?
PAX Gold is issued by Paxos Trust Company, with each token representing one fine troy ounce of a specific London Good Delivery bar. Paxos provides allocation lookup and reserve reporting, so holders can evaluate the relationship between token supply and vaulted bullion.
Onchain divisibility makes small transfers possible, but physical redemption has minimums, fees, identity checks and delivery constraints. The token removes some frictions of trading allocated gold; it does not remove issuer, custodian, legal, smart-contract or market-liquidity risk.
PAXG tracks allocated wholesale bullion, not a gold-mining company or a fund that reinvests profits for token holders.
